Hugh Watson

Hugh Watson

From an early age Hugh had an interest in plants and natural forms, which greatly influenced his later development of art and design. He travelled widely and made a career in landscape architecture, which spanned over 56 years.
His ceramic practice developed naturally as his fascination with the tactile arts grew. His pots explore the parallels of natural forms and the possibilities of fired clay.
Hugh's work is exclusive to Beside the Wave, and this collection is inspired by natural forms. These vessels speak of organic life in its most pure form.
