Beside The Wave
An exhibition of paintings and prints focusing on the landscape.
Please join us on Friday 11th Jan, 6 - 8 pm at Beside The Wave for the opening, where Sarah will be in attendance.
Sarah Woods has been represented by Beside The Wave since November 2017, in the 14 months that have passed she has continued to gain a real following of collectors. Her paintings and etchings are a refreshing and unique view of the Cornish landscape, particularly the coastlines surrounding her studio.
'The Tide Rises and Falls' includes delicate pastel studies on handmade paper, large scale acyrlic paintings on linen and brand new etchings.
"Simple movements are echoed through hand-drawn lines and brushstrokes. Paintings are minimal with the subtle detail of sewn materials and soft colours. Each stage of printmaking eachoes the repitition of water - a meditative process of viewing motion and balance, the relationship between light and dark, empty and full, the rhythm of the tide as it rises and falls." - Sarah Woods
"Sarah is a precise artist, although her paintings are sometimes abstracted, there is accute attention to detail in everything she does. The process of a finished piece can start with a tiny drawing in a sketchbook or preparing a canvas ready to sew together. I'm delighted to be hosting Sarah's first solo show and feel incredibly excited about her future as an artist." - Florence Lowry, Gallery Manager
