Through saturation of colour and application of medium, Holly uses repetitive motifs and abstract metaphors to explore the relationship we have between ourselves and landscape. With a palette which directly references the Earth pigments seen in her everyday life, Holly uses subversive opposites within the work such as flat and textured, action and removal and light and dark to create a painting with both harmony and tensions.
