"These
works represent an artist's year in Falmouth, from the quietness
of out-of-season and the bleakness of a February afternoon,
to the intense colour and light of high summer beaches. In painting
Falmouth anew, my work has developed and I consider this collection
to be a step forward for me as a painter. I have enjoyed feeling
slightly on the edge, taking traditional views and treating
them differently. Even now I feel that I have only begun to
scratch the surface of the immense visual experience that is
Falmouth for me."
