This is why so many make a human connection to his art. It is not just about decoration, pretty colours painted with great facility and flair, but a reflection of the artist's and our own changing moods and feelings. An oak with sheep sheltering in the shade beneath. We came to a small town in the evening. Chateaux Briant. The town seemed pretty deserted, but was alive with the noise of the calls of roosting rooks." Again, mysterious dark shapes, but seen against the sea, full of life and energy and moved by the wind, with the shadows of passing clouds."
