Lewin - Of Woods and Trees 2010
|
|
Paul
Lewin already has a reputation as an exceptional painter of
trees. For this exhibition he has completed a study of hawthorn
trees in the Penberth Valley, a small remote valley near St
Levan and a deeply charming and isolated part of the county.
Thorny, gnarled and twisted by the wind, the beautifully complex
forms of hawthorn trees are perfect subject matter for an artist
so adept at treading the line between observation and gesture.
