| I
am not a painter of the generic; instead, I seek to capture
the nuances of the geography of a place, as well as the characteristics
of the ocean which are very specific to each stretch of coast
that I have chosen to depict. In choosing to explore Cornwall's
celebrated headlands and promontories, I have been captivated
by new landscapes - and found that at least half of the paintings
in the collection are of places I have never studied previously,
despite my many years of painting in Cornwall. |
