Exhibition
opens Saturday 1st April
continues until 12th April 2006
Opening
Evening 6pm Friday 31st March.
Following
the success of her sell out show with the gallery last May, Amanda
took some time out to holiday on the Isles of Scilly. However
whilst on the island of Tresco Amanda was struck by the beauty
of this magical place and a new series of work started to develop.
This exhibition
is the result of two trips to Tresco, one in the Spring the other
in the Autumn, and the range of similar views taken at varying
times of the day from dawn till dusk. Whilst the paintings from
the first visit are full of flowers and soft colours, the pictures
from the second visit are more richly coloured and concentrate
on the dramatic starkness of the land and seascape. Amanda has
created pictures with wonderful tapestries of colour, subtle hues
blended and worked into delicate textures of landscape and foliage
contrasted with cool clear seas and skies with breaking light
and sparkling seas.

Of particular
interest are a new series of moonlit landscapes with deep midnight
colours and very dramatic light. Amanda is personally very pleased
with these new pieces and is excited to unveil them for this show.
She views this series as a distinct progression in her artistic
development with new challenging subject matter that has pushed
the boundaries of her technical abilities.

as a leading figure in landscape painting. She evokes Cornwall's
rich scenery with a unique style that has captured the interest
of serious collectors. Beside The Wave have many keen followers
who are eager to add to their growing portfolios and early signs
indicate that this will be another huge success.

paintings from the exhibition will be available on our website
from 6pm on Friday 31st March to coincide with the opening of
the private view. A full colour catalogue of selected paintings
from the show is also available by request.
