| Sarah
Wimperis is a gifted painter of 'place' and is drawn to
homes, gardens and landscapes that she captures in richly
saturated palettes of oil or watercolour paint. Sarah
Wimperis studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art, thereafter
exhibiting with the Portal Gallery in London. Having travelled
the world, painting constantly, Sarah became a professional
illustrator, living in Norway, then France, finally returning
Cornwall - and painting - in 2006. Sarah has exhibited
at Beside The Wave since 2008 in which time she has become
one of the gallery's best selling artists. Sarah has also
had paintings accepted for the Royal Watercolour Society
open exhibition 2010 and for the Royal Institute of Painters
in Watercolour 2010. |

| "Whatever
the medium, I hope to capture the light and mood of the
places that I know intimately. It is as if by painting
I am trying to hold on to a moment in time, the fleeting
sparkle of sunlight on water, light through new leaves,
the brilliance of mosses in a dark wood. My paintings
are tiny slivers of the natural life that surrounds me,
documented before they disappear from view. Drawing, painting
and creating images of the world around me are fundamental
to my experience of life and expression of this is, for
me, an essential and natural way of living." |
