“To me, art is a visceral experience, one that embraces the messiness of experimentation and the freedom of hands-on expression. I find nature and painting equally nurturing but when combined, they become my passion. When I’m outdoors, I absorb, breathe, and reflect on my surroundings. This evokes emotion – perhaps stillness, excitement, or hope and this is what I paint. I feel art is therapeutic not just for myself as a creator but for the viewer. My hope is for each piece to offer the viewer a precious opportunity to pause, to feel, and to connect. I strive to celebrate the beauty of Cornwall and see each painting as a tribute to the beauty that surrounds us, a reminder to cherish and protect these precious landscapes for generations to come.”
