Emily Nixon

With a background in many different art forms, from studying textiles at Goldsmith’s College followed by a postgraduate year at Warshaw Academy of fine Art in Poland, Emily now designs from her studio in Cornwall. She responds to the landscape surrounding her and is intrigued by the notion of connecting found natural materials with precious stones and metal, preserving a sea-worn organic quality across her pieces.

“My background in the arts combined with living in West Cornwall has shaped the work I make such as the sculptural forms and textures of the coastline, the fabric like twists and folds of seaweed and the weathered character of flotsam and contours of pebbles I see washed up every day”.
