Hugo Jones is a contemporary artist living in Penzance, Cornwall.

“I think about time when I’m painting; arrays of colour changing with the seasons, illuminated through breaks in the cloud. It has become the main narrative in my work, small windows into little worlds. I have a deep reverence for landscape, I feel grounded in it. I make several drawings before committing to a painting, often re-sketching and moving parts around. I try to capture the wind as it moves the clouds, grass and ocean; the marks guiding your eyes through the image.”
