Nigel’s work, both illustrative and painting, has been published within major advertising campaigns for Saatchi & Saatchi and McCann Erickson. His illustrative work for magazines has appeared in Australia and Sweden as well as the UK and his paintings in oil have graced the covers of saga genre authors, such as Elvi Rhodes and Catherine Cookson, which have been distributed worldwide. More recently he was commissioned by Channel 4 to work on a promotion for “Lost” when the series was first launched. He has now returned to his roots in fine art and is represented exclusively by Beside The Wave, Cornwall and London.

“I’ve always been drawn to shorelines and the aftermath of a wild storm left an exhilarating scene in its wake. At daybreak, the clear bright southwester was sweeping in – the Atlantic rollers crashing on the rock-strewn shore, the sharp winter sun low on the horizon backlighting the foam and spray, piercing the wave is undiminished after a thousand-mile journey across the Atlantic to be transfigured into spectacle on collision with the hard Cornish rock. Each day is different, each tide is different, each wave is unique and contains near abstract elements of representational painting – form, colour and above all, light.”
