ANDREW TOZER ‘Impressions of Cornish Springtime’

After the success of past collections, we are delighted to welcome a new exhibition from Andrew.

As the grey Cornish landscape begins to dazzle in the springtime light, we are once again graced by Andrew’s adept ability to capture these scenes in all their resplendent beauty. With varying palettes, from radiant green and turquoise, to softer tones as swells of clouds envelope the rich blue skies. Andrew’s joy in painting this collection emanates from the canvas. There is a visible journey of artistic exploration as he experiments with not only colour but his use of vivid mark making and blending. Several of the pieces have distinctive brush marks whilst others are blended to create a soft haze. These techniques lend themselves to emulating the individual scenes, creating a captivating interplay between dynamism and serenity.

The collection is playful and enchanting with a combination of distinct locations and more intimate scenes. You’re lead through the lush foliage by evasive figures or watch as sailboats glide across the glimmering sea. Andrew’s work transcends mere visual representation, the paintings encapsulate the essence of the landscape and allow the viewer to be transported to the very best of Cornish weather.
