For Sarah, working in clay is an experience like no other, the kind of durability and plasticity she finds in clay is like no other medium and the process can then be halted at any time by the artist and fired to complete the journey. Her inspiration comes from seascapes and landscapes with the overlapping lines and shapes that occur within these natural scenes. She uses intensely coloured glazes and mark making to create a visceral pieces of work which respond to the patterns and rythyms found in organic cycles.
