This red grogged stoneware tsubo jar has been marked with iron oxide under chun glaze, giving the piece a shine aswell as a depth of colour. This current interest in ‘ tsubo’ has resulted in a series of thrown jars either made in one piece or, for the larger sizes, thrown in two pieces and joined.
