Thrown Tsubo Jar

This grogged stoneware tsubo jar has been marked with a blue / black Engobe under poured chun and shiny white glaze with silica carbide- this gives the piece a depth in the surface plane as well as a instantaneous feel. This current interest in ‘ tsubo’ has resulted in a series of thrown jars either made in one piece or, for the larger sizes, thrown in two pieces and joined.
