This coil built and raku fired pot is a true example of how Catherine creates individual and thoughtful pieces which are exquisitely crafted through traditional techniques. The surface of the pots is burnished to a silky finish with often the use of a smooth pebble and then is bisque fired. This is then followed by glazing and then the outside Raku firing. This process is incredibly temperamental, and Catherine has honed this skill and makes work which directly relates to her natural surroundings and in particular responding to the heritage of the ancient Cornish landscape.
