A Moment in Time – Emily’s Ceramic Landscapes

Emily’s slab built ceramic vessels, characterised by a painterly approach, capture abstract interpretations reminiscent of landscapes. Emily’s distinctive style effectively conveys a sense of place through clay, drawing inspiration from ever-changing skies, seas, and coastlines. Her vessels embody unique moments in time, influenced by the flick of a paintbrush, choice of tools, and surrounding environment. Coastal hues resemble the sky and sea, while some pieces explore bolder greens reminiscent of hills and gardens. Each vessel is handcrafted using white earthenware and undergoes multiple firings, resulting in individual, clay-based paintings that stand as unique works of art.
