Monolith Open Rectangle Earrings

The outline shape is inspired by the great monolith standing stones of Callanish on the Isle of Lewis and the handmade shapes reflect the hand carved nature of the stones made hundreds of years ago. The reticulated part demonstrates the texture of the stones and a-symmetry found in nature.

I add surface texture to the open rectangle with Grandad’s old workshop hammers and the reticulated part moves independently to catch the light beautifully.
