Richard Tuff – Land

Richard has requested that 25% of total sales from his show are donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

“It’s normally an exciting time when a show comes together after many months of preparations. The inspiration for the paintings has a starting point in my mind as to what I’d like to focus on for the show, followed by re-visiting much loved places & making photographic references to begin the whole process of drawing out and painting the paintings in my studio at home. Then finally, a long time after the thinking process has begun, the final stages approach, where the work needs finishing and  framing & delivering to the gallery ahead of the start of the show.

This year, the final stages of getting my show together has coincided, as I’m sure everyone is aware, by the appalling situation which has unfolded before our eyes in Ukraine. The idea to support the DEC’s Ukraine appeal came about because like so many people I began to wonder what I could do to help in some way. I thought maybe I could use my show this year as a way of raising funds for this worthy cause. I hope in some way, despite the devastating news we are hearing everyday, that you can enjoy looking at my paintings, and that together we can help to make a difference to those less fortunate than ourselves.”
